Nominate an Industry Hero to the Texas Asphalt Pavement Hall of Fame

Our industry is built on people and relationships more than any other factor. When we reflect on the word "hero," we have a vision of who that person is or has been in our professional lives. In many instances, that individual is also a personal hero. In 2022, the TXAPA Board of Directors elected to establish the Texas Asphalt Pavement Hall of Fame to honor those whose noteworthy career achievements are matched only by their integrity and selflessness demonstrated for the betterment of their colleagues and industry. We now call upon all TXAPA Members to nominate worthy individuals for distinction as Hall of Fame Class of 2024 members.

Who Is Eligible?

Eligibility criteria include active involvement in the Texas Asphalt Pavement Association (TXAPA) or affiliation with TXAPA and the asphalt pavement industry, with contributions towards advancing and growing the industry in alignment with TXAPA's mission. Partnering agencies such as public works at federal, state, and local levels, educators and researchers from educational/trade institutions, as well as consulting firms are also eligible. The primary condition for all nominees is that their contributions must have been significant within Texas. Posthumous nominations are accepted for deceased individuals from any of the aforementioned capacities with no time restrictions.

How to Nominate

Any individual may submit one or multiple entries for consideration by the TXAPA Board of Directors. To nominate, the official form must be filled out. Each nominee requires a separate form, which must be submitted to the TXAPA Chief Executive Office before the nominee can be considered. The TXAPA Board of Directors will meet to review and vote on all applications received. If approved by the TXAPA Board of Directors, the nominee (if alive) and the nominator are notified.

Induction Ceremony

The induction ceremony is scheduled for this year's TXAPA annual meeting. It will be held during the TxDOT-TXAPA Joint Luncheon on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. Remember, nominations are due July 18, 2024.
