APEX – Asphalt Pavement EXchange

The Asphalt Pavement EXchange (APEX) is a collaborative initiative between the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the Texas Asphalt Pavement Association (TXAPA), serving as a centralized hub for knowledge sharing and education in the asphalt industry. Launching in July 2025, APEX aims to provide asphalt professionals across Texas with access to critical resources, tools, and industry-standard practices, enhancing the quality, safety, and longevity of Texas roads.

Mission

APEX is a dedicated, coordinated, and continuously improved asphalt pavement knowledge sharing education program for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and industry professionals. TxDOT’s APEX program is a new knowledge-sharing and partnering initiative that seeks to connect industry-leading resources and tools with asphalt pavement professionals across the state. Together, we can assure the quality, safety, and longevity of Texas roads by providing high-quality, more durable asphalt pavements.

Program Components

APEX will offer a variety of resources and learning opportunities, including:

  • Educational Materials: Development of diverse learning materials tailored to the needs of TxDOT and industry professionals.
  • Workshops: Hosting live in-person and online events to facilitate knowledge exchange and professional development.
  • Online Hub: Establishing a dynamic website as the central point for accessing APEX resources and updates.
  • Mailing List: Providing regular communications to keep stakeholders informed about new developments, resources, and opportunities.
