Consensus Properties

Consensus properties are aggregate characteristics critical to well-performing hot mix asphalt, regardless of the aggregate source, and whose limiting values are set by the Superpave specification. There are four aggregate consensus properties:

1. coarse aggregate angularity
2. fine aggregate angularity
3. flat and elongated particles
4. clay content.
